The Amalfi Coast, all wrapped up into something you can actually take home.

A charming Italian ceramic fish lantern wall sconce, made in Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast and dating to the 1960s–1970s. Hand-modelled fish and marine-life motifs decorate the rounded lantern, finished in a mottled turquoise-green glaze with raised pink, blue, yellow and amber details. Its sculptural ceramic form and playful sea-life decoration bring a distinctly Mediterranean character to this vintage Italian wall light.

The openwork body allows light to shine through the ceramic, highlighting the colourful fish, coral-like forms and glossy glazed surfaces. Topped with a sculptural sea-creature finial, this decorative Vietri ceramic lantern is an expressive piece of Italian coastal design, equally distinctive illuminated or displayed as an object.

Origin: Vietri sul Mare, Italy

Era: 1960s–1970s

Materials: Hand-modelled, hand-painted glazed ceramic.

Attribution: Vietri ceramic workshop.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age.
