A striking pair of vintage Italian wall sconces from the 1970s, featuring softly curved Murano glass shades in a beautiful pale aqua blue.

Each sconce is formed from a broad bowl-shaped glass shade with a fine, deeper blue rim, creating a wonderfully simple contrast when illuminated. Their restrained form and almost milky translucency give them a distinctly Italian Modernist quality; sculptural enough to hold their own during the day, but particularly beautiful once lit.

The glass retains its original Vetri di Murano label. The pair has previously been attributed to Zonca, Italy, a manufacturer known for Italian decorative lighting during the period.
