Powder Blue Skirted Armchair with Contrast Piping & Flared Arms
Like a bad relationship; impossible to get out of.
A beautifully proportioned vintage Australian armchair, c.1970s, newly upholstered in soft powder blue linen-blend fabric with contrasting teal piping. Its generous proportions, dramatically flared arms and fully skirted base give the chair a wonderfully feminine silhouette, balanced by crisp tailoring and graphic contrast detailing.
The exaggerated arms curve gently outwards around a deep, comfortable seat, while the gathered skirt softens the substantial form and gives it an almost dress-like quality. Teal piping traces the chair's curves and edges, sharpening the otherwise romantic powder blue upholstery and giving the piece a slightly unexpected contemporary edge.
A wonderfully comfortable 1970s upholstered accent chair that sits somewhere between traditional tailoring and playful postmodern colour - pretty, but thankfully not too polite.
