An antique tramp art lidded box dated 1936, made using the traditional stacked and notched wood technique associated with early American folk art. The exterior is covered in intricate chip-carved geometric patterns across all visible surfaces, with raised pedestal feet adding height and detail to this distinctive piece of antique folk art.

The layered wood construction and repeated hand-carved patterning give this 1930s wooden box its sculptural character. A striking decorative object for displaying or storing jewellery, letters and small keepsakes.
