"You said you’d text me back"

Expressionist figurative oil painting depicting a stylised embracing couple, executed in bold black contour lines over muted pastel tones. Signed “G. Rouault” in the upper right, the square composition combines simplified figures with expressive linework and a restrained palette. A characterful 20th-century French-style figurative painting with a distinctive, graphic quality.

The intimate subject and loose, expressive forms give the work a sense of movement and personality, making it an unusual decorative oil painting for a layered, collected interior. Offered as a decorative artwork; no authentication or attribution paperwork accompanies the piece.
