This vintage Brutalist door handle, dating to approximately the 1970s, is formed from substantial patinated metal with a broad, sharply folded grip and heavily textured rectangular mounting plate. The almost blackened finish has worn through in places to reveal warm bronze and coppery tones beneath, emphasising its angular, sculptural construction. More architectural object than ordinary hardware, this piece of Brutalist architectural hardware brings texture, patina and a distinctly Modernist edge to an otherwise simple door.
