Gilded Brass Scallop Shell Wall Light, France, c.1930s
Mermaids sold separately.
A beautifully sculptural French wall sconce dating to the 1930s, formed as an oversized scallop shell in gilded brass. The softly hammered surface and original gilt finish have developed a rich patina over time, lending warmth and depth that only decades can produce. Rooted in the elegance of the Art Deco period, the shell motif feels both architectural and romantic, making it equally at home in an entry, bathroom, bedroom or layered gallery wall. Decorative when unlit and atmospheric when illuminated, it embodies the glamour of interwar French design.
